WIC & FMNP Program

Yesterday, following a five hour workshop regarding the details of involvement with the WIC and FMNP program, I became a participating site accepting WIC & FMNP vouchers. WIC, as the image explains, is “Women Infants & Children”, more specifically, it is a federally funded program providing pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children under five who meet WIC eligibility guidelines with nutritious healthy foods, nutrition education, and various other health related referrals. If you are a family of two with an annual income below $26,956 up to a family of six with an annual income below $54, 632 you may be eligible for assistance.

AZ FMNP is the Farmers Market Nutrition Program providing vouchers to eligible participants to help increase fresh fruit and vegetable intake for women and children who are also part of the WIC program. Some seniors are eligible for the FMNP vouchers too. These vouchers are only good at participating farmers markets – and I am now one of those.
