Veggie List for January 17th

Mr. Winks the refreshments vendor at Tonopah Rob's Vegetable Farm

Meet Mr. Winks, he is a vendor out here at my Saturday morning Farmers Market in Tonopah, Arizona. In addition to the myriad of vegetables I am selling out here in the desert near Phoenix, local vendors from around the area join me each Saturday to bring you the local tastes of Arizona. These vendors are local residents operating small businesses or as in Mr. Winks’ situation they are learning the ropes of operating a small business and need your support and encouragement to run a successful enterprise. Visiting Tonopah Rob’s All-Natural Better Than Organic Vegetable Farm on an early Saturday morning is a mighty great way to support your community – and Mr. Winks’ Refreshment booth.

Janicki’s Eco-Clean Cleaning Products is another small business worth your investigation. If you are making the effort to buy all-natural chemical free fruits and vegetables, eating more whole grains, drinking hormone free milk, and chewing on lean grass fed free range bison but you are still cleaning your kitchen with the same old commerical chemical cleaners – it’s about time for you to consider stepping up to Janicki’s eco-friendly cleaning products. I recently started using them and not only do I love the smell of these products, they worked wonders cleaning stains off my carpet.

Finally, you should try making French Toast with House of Bread’s Blueberry Bread – you’ll die! The recipe is simple, using some eggs from my farm and adding a splash of milk, dip thick slices of Blueberry Bread into the egg mixture and slap them on your griddle. It’s your choice if you want to add syrup as this breakfast will be perfect taken right off the pan and on to your plate. Makes a great dessert too – not everything has to be good for the waist line folks.

But you ask, hey Tonopah Rob, doesn’t your title say this is the veggie list for this Saturday? Well without further ado, here you go:

  • Blueberry Bread – ok, its not a vegetable but you just got to know how much I love this
  • Salad Mix
  • Cauliflower
  • Assorted Turnips
  • Salad Sweeties
  • Lemons
  • Grapefruit
  • Orange Citrus
  • Hoop House Tomatoes
  • Radishes
  • Yukon Gold Potatoes
  • New Red Potatoes
  • Assorted Peppers
  • Swiss Chard
  • Roasted Chili Peppers
  • Spring Onions
  • Fresh Eggs

And some fantastic vendors who come out so bright and early every Saturday to offer you the convenience of finding so many wonderful all-natural local fresh foods and flavors. Call 623-386-3033 for directions or questions.

OMG!!! I just ate the best tasting bell pepper I have ever eaten in my entire life!!! Rob you totally rock!!
As I unpacked my bag of produce from you my dogs where stealing vegetables from me while I put them away. I haven’t seen that much wagging in a long time!
I was starving when I got home & made some eggs with scallions. I sliced up radishes, bell peppers & tomatoes along with a giant slice of House of Bread “Prairie Bread”. YUMMMMMY!! I am very excited about cooking with the sauces from Terra Verde Farms & the spice from Gromo’s Garden.
Thank you for all you do & giving us an alternative to the supermarkets. I will definitely be out to see you every week!
