Isn’t she cute?  Laying hens are for sale. Raise your own ready to lay flock of lady hens.

Look at the girls eating left over carrot tops and other grasses that were weeded from several plots on the farm. The zebra chickens lay brown eggs and the white Leghorn lay white eggs.  The girls have just turned 2 years old so there is a lot of good laying left in the old cluckers.  The zebras are heavier and make more stew for your buck. The cost is 5.00 dollars per hen.

If you want to purchase any layers or stew hens it’s best to call or email Tonopah Rob. Saturday mornings are the pick up days and it’s highly suggested to come early in the morning if you have a 30 minute drive or longer. The high heat is just way too much for the girls to handle unless you plan to transport them inside your air-conditioned vehicle.  Also, bring your own cage or dog kennel for transport. Cardboard boxes are too hot unless you ventilate the box well.

Dollar Days Continue at the farm stand.  That’s right Tonopah Rob is having a huge sale.  Eggplant, peppers, potatoes, summer squash, tomatoes, beets, cabbage and seedless grapes are all on sale at $1.00/lb.  Sweet mini red salad onions, $1.00 a bunch. They can be used as a fresh onion, dry them for even more sweetness and if you continue the drying process you can plant them in the fall for your own garden. Ask Rob how to dry and plant them.
