4 Market Locations This Weekend ~ Veggie List 4/23/16
Get ready for some wonderful potatoes. This season Purple Viking and Red Pontiac spuds are ready to dig, come and get’em.
Pictured here are Red Pontiac Potatoes, they are creamilicious!
This week the farm is blessing all of us with strawberries, blackberries and potatoes. I dug up a Purple Viking Potato plant a few days ago…nine spuds were holding onto the roots and Boy Howdy!!! They are so rich with flavor. The beautiful purplish red skins are so thin and delicate. The inside flesh looks like high beam headlight white.
This week, Tonopah Rob is joining in the celebration of (ACI) Arizona Culinary Institutes Open House. I encourage any and all future wanna be chefs whether you are in high school or wanting a career change to come over to the ACI’s open house and take a tour of the school. It’s a great place to learn a new trade and their job placement is in the 90% range of employment. President, owner and most high chef, Robert Wilson and Executive chef Chris Wolf and many others will be on hand giving tours and answering questions regarding their highly accredited school. Tonopah Rob will be selling all kinds of produce on site as well. So, come on over and get veggie with it and tour the school. The event begins at 9 a.m. to noon. The location is Arizona Culinary Institute 10585 North 114th St. Suite 401 Scottsdale, Arizona 85259.
Three other locations will be up and running this weekend providing the wind is more calm this week. Penlina Farmers Market, Glendale Farmers Market and of course, come rain, wind, snow and sunshine the Farm Stand in Tonopah will be open. Click onto the above tab “directions to the markets” for more information and start times. Buckeye market is closed for the season.
