Look what the frost missed last time! Firecracker Marigolds.
As some of you could tell by coming out and taking a farm tour, the vegetables are really looking vibrant and healthy, ready for harvest. Since the weather has cooled down the vegetables have acclimated and are now growing really fast. Very soon, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots will be ready to harvest. New salad mixes, leafy greens including kale, Swiss chard and Tonopah Rob’s Desert Spinach Mix are overflowing their raised beds and will be ready for harvest this week. Scroll down to see the veggie list.

Now, that all of the really big news is out in the open there is more news. The yearly Christmas 1/4 CSA Shares are now available and will be until Dec. 20, 2012. For One hundred and fifty dollars you can enter the quarter share CSA program. The farm gives back some too and it’s 10%. 15.00 dollars will be added to the share and the beginning balance of 165.00 dollars starts a heck of a lot of shopping. Give the gift of giving to your favorite cook and farmer, it’s a win-win for all.
Also, it’s encouraged to come out to the farm and take a tour, see where your food is being grown. Meet the chickens, turkeys and of course if I didn’t mention Dini the Dog and Juneyur the Cat they told me they wouldn’t be available to be “seen” on those days. Of course I said, “what everrrrrrr” and continued to walk off but they call the shots and they know it and so do I, so a shout out to Dini and Juneyur. Don’t know how I got sidetracked but there is a lot to see.
You don’t need to call ahead for a tour unless you are bringing a bus load, a small army of veggies lovers, or your giant guinea pig, then I would need to know and probably my liability insurance agent too. So, come on out and take a guided tour by Tonopah Rob on Saturdays from 8 to noon. For a complete list of markets click on the above link market directions.
