It’s beet season on the farm.  These are some of the goodies available on the CSA program.  Scroll down for more info on the Christmas CSA program.  It’s a great way to give the gift of yummlicious and support your very hip and cool local farmer.

Twas the night before market all through the farm, workers were busy using their strong arm

Pulling up turnips, radishes and more, collecting eggs is another chore

Bunching, cleaning and packing to chill, all of the veggies for tomorrow’s thrill

It’s Saturday morning way before dawn, frost has covered the now brown lawn

Cold fingers and toes feel every degree, hot coffee a must we all agree

Customers are standing at the gate, I looked at the clock it’s a quarter to eight

Salutations are met with hand shakes and smiles, I know these folks drove for miles

The first to arrive get the best choice, the ooh’s and ahh’s are heard in their voice

With bags in hand and filled with goodies, they walk away bundled up in their hoodies

Their cars are all loaded ready to deport, I thank you and thank you for your support.

Late Breaking News:  The Stock Shop Market will be closed this upcoming Sunday.  The freeze has hit my farm extremely hard.  The good news is my farm stand and the Goodyear location will be open as planned.  Please understand when the freeze hits the farm, inventory becomes very low.  There are only a few hours each day after the freeze thaws that gives me an oppontunity to harvest before the crops must be covered by the frost cloth.   All CSA members can come to the farm stand or Goodyear.  Click onto MARKET DIRECTIONS for market times.
